If your idea of a fun night out involves karaoke (honestly, same), you need to come to Boo Bar ASAP!

There’s a wonderful al fresco vibe here as the action spills out onto the courtyard around Man Hing Lane and complementing all these are some great cocktails. But for your occasional splurge, it’s pretty fine.

Some nights, you can sing karaoke, but that’s not really the appeal (at least to me). Up to you where you want to settle in!

Don't get me wrong, there was action happening - mostly random acts in the corridors of the maze downstairs which were fast, furious and incredibly horny, but short lived. Guys - you've just paid $230HK odd to get in and seem to wander around looking for something that is not there. People simply enjoy a drink, chat, or have a small dance party to themselves.

Drinks are cheap at only around $90 per option.

It may be one of the most affordable places for cocktails (at least in Causeway Bay), so don’t fear drinking to your heart’s desire – responsibly!

Is he old? Sexy mixologists are on hand to serve up affordable signature cocktails. If that’s your thing, then you’re in the right place.

The DJ plays energetic EDM tunes, so feel free to dance with your company. And the bartenders are super nice – they’re a great contrast to the occasional “divas” you might encounter on some nights.

Not only is it safe, but the vibe is welcoming. The bar regularly hosts fun events like standup comics, live music, and karaoke nights. As a popular stomping ground for like-minded women, this bar frequently sees younger LGBTQIA+ crowds for fun drinking games like darts, beer pong, and themed events. Every opinion is carefully selected to make sure you have nothing but the best time in a safe space where everybody can party and be themselves.

Take your first dive in!

There’s also some table-top dancing on certain nights for added chaos.

Wink

Established by Tony Wong, formerly a partner at Zoo, Wink is your typical decent Hong Kong gay bar – all black, minimal and sleek, and with ballad covers of pop hits coming out of the stereo with their daily karaoke nights in the earlier part of the night.

All these elements combine to make this one of the most popular gay bars in the city.

Boo Bar

This popular gay bar (a bear haven by reputation) is one of the more reasonably priced bars around, a place where you can sit back and enjoy a drink without draining your bank account.

Depending on the night, you may catch some of the sassiest drag shows or see dances bumping to the tunes of funky music.

On top of that, there are various activities to kill time for, including karaoke and bingo. It’s in Causeway Bay, right outside the MRT exit. Not only are the communities inclusive, but the entertainment is always top-tier: local drag queens, awesome DJs, and a few karaoke rooms here and there.

From legendary hotspots to upscale chic lounges along Causeway Bay, this list has it all.

Their speciality cocktails can pack a surprising punch and are just the thing to get you dancing when the DJs are brought in for the weekend.

LinQ

Located on Pottinger Street, LinQ – pronounced ‘link’ – is a bar that attracts a mixed crowd of locals and expats which usually spills out onto the cobbled street.

But while it can feel packed, it’s not too noisy and you can definitely still carry out a conversation amidst the sounds.

9. It is a bit expensive, and drinks can cost at least $150 after the service charge. There are two seats, so yes, duets are possible!

And oh – they host singing contests where the winners get to win bottles.
